SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve the Naming of the Multipurpose Room at Lockhart Magnet Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Lockhart Magnet Elementary School staff, community members, and PTA have requested that the Multipurpose Room at Lockhart Magnet Elementary School be named Hollis Hall in honor of Mr. John Hollis.

Mr. Hollis was employed at Lockhart Magnet Elementary School for his entire employment of 32 years with the School District. John retired in 2008 as the Head Custodian and his positive, always smiling demeanor and concern for others was greatly missed. Mr. Hollis always gave 110% of everything he did. Throughout the years Mr. Hollis saw many changes in the school and staff, and according to his wife, he loved every one of his principals. John was named Non-Instructional Employee of the Year numerous times for his dedication to the faculty and children of Lockhart Magnet Elementary School. Mr. Hollis passed away earlier this spring and the entire school community mourned his passing.
