SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Dedication of Property to Hillsborough County at Bay Crest, Bellamy and Lake Magdalene Elementary Schools as part of the Hillsborough County Improved Signalization Program

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

School Board staff has been working with staff of the Public Works division of Hillsborough County to improve traffic light signalization at Bay Crest, Bellamy and Lake Magdalene Elementary Schools. The dedication of a small portion of School Board property to Hillsborough County at each of these schools will allow for the replacement of the base equipment for new light poles and traffic signals. It has been determined that upgrading these traffic signals will improve both student safety and vehicle flow at these locations.

School Board and County staffs will continue to work together to analyze additional school locations within the County for signalization improvements and will bring these future sites to the School Board for their consideration.
