Recognition of the Functional Assessment Consultant Team (F.A.C.T.) for the Florida Association of School Psychologists (FASP) Outstanding Service Delivery in the Practice of School Psychology Award (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Florida Association of School Psychologists (FASP) recently recognized the Functional Assessment Consultant Team (F.A.C.T.) of Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) with its award for Outstanding Service Delivery in the Practice of School Psychology. F.A.C.T. members are HCPS school psychologists with extensive training, supervised work experience, and board certification in behavior analysis. When the planning, implementation, and monitoring of behavioral services for students and classrooms requires special expertise (e.g., for persistent, high risk, and/or unusual behaviors; for sensitive or complex cases) and/or exceeds available school resources, F.A.C.T. members provide some or all of the following services:
- Guide school teams in designing and implementing individualized (Tier 3) behavioral services, monitoring student progress, supporting intervention and data reliability, and otherwise meeting the needs of students, parents, and school teams. Related services may include comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and multi-component Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Assist schools with universal/school-wide (Tier 1) and targeted group/classroom (Tier 2) behavior programs
- Provide behavioral skill training programs for school faculties, teams or other groups

EVALUATION
Evaluation of services provided by F.A.C.T. members is based on individual student gains.
