Approve Recommended Increase in Standard and Premium Hourly Rates for District Security Officers Volunteering for Off-Duty Assignments.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
A request to increase the standard and premium hourly rates for off-duty assignments performed by our district security officers, retroactive to October 13, 2009, is attached. During the 2009-2010 negotiations with the Hillsborough School Employees Federation (HSEF), an agreement was reached to update off-duty salaries for school security officers (standard & premium hourly rates). Further discussion was held with our school board attorney to ensure the appropriateness of this increase.

There is no financial impact to the district, as funds are collected through rental agreements to pay the cost of off-duty security officers.
