Approve Acceptance of Project for Renovation at
Sligh Middle School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On February 19, 2008, the Board appointed Howard & Associates Architects, P.A. and Horus Construction Services, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The renovation of existing facilities provided for new playcourts, fire sprinkler system in Buildings 1 and 2, sidewalk and lighting from parking lot to Gymnasium, sidewalk and canopy to connect Buildings 13 and 15 to the other buildings, student serving line, fume hood in Science Lab, and floor tile in Administration and Building 15 corridors; upgraded security system; casework repairs; emergency lighting upgrades; various miscellaneous plumbing and electrical repairs, and locker modifications to delete built-in locks.

The architect advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
