SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Summer Four-Day Work Week for All Employees.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
For summer 2010 (beginning the week of June 14 and ending August 6), we are recommending a four-day, ten-hour work week, with a districtwide shutdown on Fridays. Exceptions:
- the four-day work week after the paid July 5 holiday will be Tuesday-Friday, eight-hour days
- sites required to operate 24/7, i.e. Security, will not be impacted by the four-day work week
Substantial financial savings in areas such as Transportation, Student Nutrition, and Utilities were realized with the implementation of four-day work weeks during summer 2009.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
* Align financial resources to support the district’s strategic goals, * Demonstrate best financial practices
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
An approximate savings of $1,844,595.
- Extended School Year Transportation: $440,533
- Student Nutrition Services: $654,062
- Districtwide Utilities: $750,000
