Approve the Job Description for Peer Evaluator, Intensive Partnerships to Empower Effective Teachers Grant
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hillsborough County Public Schools has recently received the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's Intensive Partnerships to Empower Effective Teachers Grant. As outlined by the grant, all teachers will receive a combination of principal, peer, and student input to ensure that teachers receive rich developmental feedback. The peer evaluator will be responsible for supporting Hillsborough County’s teacher effectiveness initiative by conducting both formative and summative observations and providing feedback on instructional practices.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
* Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates, * Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods, * Motivate students to become responsible learners, * Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum, * Recruit, develop, and retain a highly effective, diverse workforce, * Align the performance management system with the district’s priorities, * Provide for a district-wide succession planning structure and visible career ladder
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Hillsborough County Public Schools will receive $100 million over the next seven years. Funds from the grant will be used for this initiative.
EVALUATION
The project's progress will be evaluated annually by the District, Gates staff, and external evaluators.
