Notice: If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or hearing, he/she will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. (Pursuant to Florida Statute 286.0105)
School Board meetings are aired on the Tampa Bay Arts & Education Network, BrightHouse channel 635, and Verizon channel 32, on Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m.; and replayed Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m., Sundays 3:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.
Hillsborough County School Board meetings are available with closed captioning on live webcasts and on live television broadcasts. As of the meeting of October 28, 2014, closed captioning is available in the video archive as well. Closed captioning is also displayed on a monitor in the Board auditorium during School Board meetings.

Clicking on an agenda item will bring that portion of the video forward for viewing. Indexing currently is supported on computers and tablet devices only. iPad users need to begin playing the meeting video before selecting an agenda item.
Article IX of the Florida Constitution states in part, "The education of children is a fundamental value of the people of the State of Florida. It is, therefore, a paramount duty of the state to make adequate provision for the education of all children residing within its borders." The Article also states that the educational system must be "uniform, efficient, safe, secure, and high-quality," and class size limits must be imposed. Prekindergarten learning opportunities must be made available. There must be a state university system.
