Declaring November 2010 as Anti-Bullying/Harassment Awareness Month
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Durant High School graduate, Jacklyn Raulerson, reigning Miss Florida, will read a proclamation declaring the month of November 2010 as Hillsborough County Public Schools Anti-Bullying and Harassment Month.  Currently all of our public schools have anti-bullying programs in place. Parents and students are provided a variety of ways to report bullying incidents which include our district online reporting system, verbally, on a form available at every school, and Crimestoppers.  Administrators, teachers, support staff, psychologists, social workers, bus drivers, and any person who influences a student's life at a school have received training on how to intervene, investigate, and stop bullying incidents. Our district is very involved with local, state, and federal initiatives to help eliminate bullying among our students.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Promote a culture of safety, which is free from harassment, bullying, and aggression
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Anti-bullying programs in our district are budgeted and funded with district approval. There is no additional cost for adoption of this proclamation. Activities associated with this proclamation will be developed by individual schools.
