EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request the approval of the Agreements for Technical Services with Jane Busbee and Nancy Toelle for professional development and program consultation.  FIMC-VI is charged with providing disability-specific statewide services and professional development to Florida's school districts.  The consultants will:

·     Coordinate the creation of training materials and the delivery of workshop content for Phase One, Sessions Two and Three, of the implementation of Quality Programs for the Visually Impaired (QPVI).  This effort will assist targeted central Florida districts to develop their program capabilities to better meet the needs of their students who are blind, visually impaired, or deaf-blind. These four days of training, approved by the Florida Department of Education, will be February 2-3 and May 5-6, 2011, in Sanford, Florida.

·     Create training materials, coordinate, and deliver content for a two day follow-up workshop to implement Phase One of QPVI in south Florida districts.  This follow-up training will be January 6-7, 2011, in Miami, Florida.

·     Continue to collaborate and facilitate with existing QPVI efforts in Duval, Hillsborough, Orange, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, and Polk school districts.   Provide a facilitator's training on February 1, 2011, in Tampa, Florida. Additionally, consultants will provide up to 60 hours of video conferencing and/or online support for these districts.

·     Provide consultation in the development of online training, video conferencing, and other alternate delivery methods for follow-up and ongoing collaboration related to QPVI.
