EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948. This declaration indicates that respect for human rights and human dignity "is the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace in the world." The declaration contains 30 articles detailing rights afforded to all human beings ranging from being born free and equal to the assertion that no one can take away another's human rights.
The observance of "Human Rights Week" December 6-10, 2010, commemorates our District's recognition that it takes a cooperative effort among students, parents/guardians, staff, and community members to produce an atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance. |
