Approve Agreement with Central Park Development Group, LLC and Encore Community Development District | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Property owned by the School District as the future site of Meacham Middle School, falls within the Encore Development in downtown Tampa. The Central Park Development Group has established a Community Development District ( Encore CDD) to fund infrastructure and services within the project. This Agreement sets out conditions whereby the School Board consents to the property's inclusion within the CDD, but exempts the School District from any mandatory payment of fees associated with the services and/or infrastructure within the project.
At the discretion of the School District, the Agreement allows for the District to participate in services such as irrigation and pay a user fee. The Agreement acknowledges that the District will not be subject to any fees related to the discharge of stormwater into the CDD funded stormwater system. The Encore CDD Board has met and considered this Agreement and approved it on November 4, 2010. The Central Park Development Group also approved the agreement on September 1, 2010. |

There will be no immediate financial impact related to approval of this Agreement. However, when the school is eventually constructed, there will be a savings due to the use of the CDD stormwater system rather than constructing one for just the school. | |
