Approve Agreement with Plato Learning for 2010/2011 School Year (Curriculum and Instruction Division) Attachments Added | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request approval of an agreement between Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) and Plato Learning, Inc. to provide product and services for secondary mathematics. The product and services agreement will provide 200 concurrent licenses to students throughout HCPS for access to the online course Advanced Topics Math. This course expansion is necessary to provide the opportunity for students to earn an approved math credit in order to qualify for the Bright Futures Scholar program and to provide schools additional scheduling options to meet class size reduction requirements. These students cannot currently take the course at their "brick and mortar" school due to class size limitations. The concurrent licenses will allow students to access the course at their convenience. The students' progress and completion of the course will be monitored and facilitated by a HCPS highly-qualified secondary mathematics instructor.
These licenses are considered exempt from the formal bid process per Florida Department of Education 6A1.012 purchasing policies. |
