EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Rugby 4 Life partnered with Hillsborough County Public Schools to develop and implement the noncontact flag rugby curriculum. The noncontact flag rugby curriculum is in alignment with the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for alternative/nontraditional sports. The curriculum focuses on physical fitness, nutrition, teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development. In addition to providing grade level specific curricula, Rugby 4 Life developed and provided content outlines, sample lesson plans, nutritional flip charts, districtwide professional development, and individual site visits to 25 elementary schools, 40 middle schools, and 22 high schools. In addition, the United States Marine Corps furnished official rugby balls to be distributed during Rugby 4 Life site visits. Approximately 91,000 students benefited from this partnership. Our district received approximately $50,000 in financial benefits for the 2009/2010 school year.
