At the direction of the School Board an Early Release Committee was formed to review early release options. The committee made up of parents, teachers, principals, area director, union representatives, Citizen Advisory Council, and students was co-chaired by Ken Otero, Deputy Superintendent and Melissa Erickson, President of Hillsborough County PTSA. The committee met on five different dates and worked through ideas to support the statement: "How can the Public Schools of Hillsborough County provide for effective common teacher planning with as little impact as possible on the instructional day for students?"
The committee met, reviewed issues, and prepared written recommendations. Attached is a draft document that has been prepared for the Superintendent's review. |
