This award recognized Elisa for her 1,000+ community service hours and her two unique service projects benefiting the youth of Tampa Bay. Her service project "April Pools Day" partners with the YMCA to promote water safety in elementary school aged children, and was an outcome of her participation in the Bezos Foundation Leadership conference in Aspen, Colorado last summer. In addition, Elisa leads the "I Feel the Need to Read" literacy service project at Freedom High School, continuing the efforts started last year to provide books to elementary school aged students at Title I schools.
