Recognition of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) of Tampa for Their Contributions to the Instruction of Aquatic Safety to Students in Hillsborough County Public Schools (Elementary Education - Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY |
The YMCA of Tampa partnered with our district to develop a K-5 Aquatic Safety curriculum that is in alignment with the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for physical education. In addition to grade specific curricula, representatives from the YMCA provided corresponding instructional resources and professional development training for 225 elementary physical education teachers. Approximately 84,000 elementary students will directly benefit from this partnership. HCPS received financial benefits of approximately $8,000 for the 2009/2010 school year.
