Adoption of Proclamation - Youth Art Month, March 2011 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Art Educators National Conference has designated March 2011 as Youth Art Month. Attached is a proclamation that Hillsborough County Public Schools will observe the month of March 2011 as Youth Art Month. The theme for this year's activities is Art Shapes the World: Everything Old is New Again, with the focus on visual arts programs that cultivate student, parent, and community learning. These programs approach academic concepts from an artful point of view. Art communicates through a language of images and experiences with which students connect and that students also enjoy. As art teachers share techniques and skills, they make learning an adventure for their students and themselves.
