Information Regarding Homestead Exemption as a Means of Residence Verification for the Student Enrollment Process
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
At the School Board workshop on November 15th, 2010, the board discussed using Homestead Exemption as one form of residence verification.  In order to facilitate the use of Homestead Exemption as a means of residence verification for the student enrollment process, the existing Student Residency form (SB6071) will be modified.  The term "Tax Receipt" in section A will be replaced with the "Tax Receipt that verifies Homestead Exemption".  This new term will be the first choice in Section A. Copies of the form are attached.  In August, at the annual Data Processors inservice, instruction will be provided for using the form and verifying Homestead Exemption by a hardcopy of the tax receipt or by accessing the Hillsborough County Property Appraiser's website.
