| Approve the Recommendation Regarding the Purchase of "Boardmaker Studio and Maestro Products" from DynaVox Systems, LLC d/b/a DynaVox Mayer-Johnson (Business Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The competitive solicitation process has been waived for the purchases of Maestro products, as stated in the Florida Department of Education rule 6A-1.012 Purchasing Policies. The Boardmaker Studio products are copyrighted and purchased directly from DynaVox Systems, LLC as a sole-source product.
The Maestro products are speech generating devices to meet the needs of students with speech and hearing impairments for Individual Education Plans. The Boardmaker Studio products is a tool (software) for creating printed activities that are important for teaching students with disabilities. It contains hundreds of time-saving, easy-to-use Studio Starter templates and gadgets, that mean fast solutions for the teacher and fun-filled activities for the students. |
