On October 5, 2010, the Board appointed Wilder Architecture, Inc., Ossi Consulting Engineers, Inc., VoltAir Consulting Engineers, LLC, and Lyle Engineering Group, Inc., respectively, to provide design services for renovations at Chiaramonte, Lewis, and Lockhart Elementary Schools and Hill Middle School.  Completion of the HVAC portion of each project requires acquisition of similar variable frequency drives (VFDs).

Equipment specifications for VFDs for each school were developed by the respective design firms.  District staff combined the requirements for each school into a single solicitation and solicited bids via Vendor Bid.  Three bidders responded to the solicitation (bid tabulation attached).

The respective design teams have reviewed the proposed equipment for compliance with solicitation requirements.  Award of contract for the VFDs as indicated in the attachment to Tampa Bay System Sales dba Tampa Bay Trane, the firm providing the low bid meeting the requirements of the solicitation, is recommended.

Funds for equipment purchases in the amount of $52,579 are included in the Capital Outlay and Debt Service (CO & DS) and Local Millage funds budgeted for Chiaramonte, Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Maintenance funds budgeted for Lewis,  Local Millage funds budgeted for Lockhart, and Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) and Local Millage funds for Hill.
