| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Because the majority of grant Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Application (RFA) for Adult Education Programs are released with a 30-45 days notice or less, the Adult Education Department is not able to request the Board's approval on individual projects. The primary funding source for grant proposals for Adult Education is the Florida Department of Education. All grant applications are authored in collaboration with appropriate district staff and under the guidance of district administrators. All grant applications target projects that support district goals and initiatives. |

Based on past performance, it is estimated that grant funds received by the district through the efforts of the Adult Education Department will total over $2,250,000 during the 2011/2012 school year. These funds are included in the district's divisional special revenue/federal programs budget. |

| EVALUATION | |
| Evaluations are performed for all funded grants as required by the grant funding authority. The Adult Education Department collaborates with the district's Divisional Information Services (IS) to collect required formative and summative evaluation data and submit it to the Florida Department of Education or other funding authority. | |
