Recognition of 2010/2011 District Winner for the Congressional Art Competition (Secondary Education-Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation, as well as in each congressional district. The first place entry for each congressional district is displayed in the Cannon Tunnel of the United States Capitol Building for an entire year where it will be seen by tens of thousands of people visiting the United States Capitol. The first place winner will travel to Washington, D.C., to attend the Congressional Reception in honor of all winners nationwide.
The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982, and since its inception over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the competition. |
