Renew the Existing Bid Submitted by Various Vendors - Invitation to Bid (ITB) #10041-DST Antifreeze and Petroleum Products (Business Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On April 28, 2010, the Procurement Department, in conjunction with the Transportation Department, issued an ITB to establish fixed pricing for antifreeze and petroleum products. These products include hydraulic oil, full synthetic oil, transmission fluid, and antifreeze.
The initial term for this award was from May 19, 2010 through May 18, 2011, with four additional one-year renewal options. The suppliers have agreed to renew for the second year, beginning May 19, 2011, and ending May 18, 2012, with terms and conditions to remain unchanged; however, prices have been adjusted. Since these items follow the crude oil market, Hillsborough County Public Schools allows for quarterly increases. Ward Oil Company did not request an increase until March 2010. The ten percent increase granted for synthetic oil resulted in an increase of approximately $3,000. J. H. Williams Oil Company requested a 28 percent increase in February 2010, for antifreeze, which will result in an increase of approximately $2,800, based on annual volume. The Superintendent is authorized to approve the renewal agreement for the terms of the specifications. |
