Approve Agreement for Technical Services with the Youth Crime Watch of America (YCWA) to Provide Participating Middle Schools with Technical Assistance (Student Services and Federal Programs Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Youth Crime Watch of America (YCWA) will continue to provide technical assistance to Hillsborough Out-of-School-Time (HOST) middle school sites. The YCWA program components allow youth to develop leadership skills while working to make schools and communities safer. The YCWA program emphasizes positive peer pressure in order to change attitudes, promote values, and motivate students to take responsible action through an array of youth-led activities.
YCWA will provide resource materials, training, program implementation, and measurable outcomes. YCWA facilitates crime reports, action projects, and assists with other site specific or district-wide safety initiatives. The program dates will be from June 15, 2011 through August 11, 2011. |

The cost of this agreement will be paid for using HOST funds in the amount of $15,100. | |

Students will be given a pre- and post-survey to evaluate the effectiveness of the program. | |
