SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS | |
Accept the Highest Ranked Proposals Submitted by Beth Ingram and Independent Living - Request For Proposal #11047-EST Speech and Language Services for Parentally-Placed Private School Students (Business Division) |
|
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004, requires that districts consult with private school representatives and representatives of parents of students with disabilities (SWD) to ensure that eligible parentally-placed SWD can meaningfully participate in special education and related services. One of the opportunities offered to the private schools is speech and language services. Based on the number of SWD in the district and the amount of the IDEA Grant, a proportionate amount of the IDEA dollars provides evaluation, re-evaluation, and direct services to SWD at eligible private schools. We continue to have a critical national shortage of speech and language pathologists, so it is necessary to hire contracted therapists to meet the requirements of the IDEA. Executive Summary continued on attachment. |

EVALUATION | |
Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and the Procurement Officer, who function as a team. Reviews are conducted face to face, typically quarterly, or by utilizing an online vendor performance report. Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract. |
