Renew the Existing Bid Submitted by M & B Products, Inc. - Invitation to Bid (ITB) #9042-DST Fruit Juice Products (Business Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On June 09, 2009, the Procurement Department, in conjunction with the Student Nutrition Services Department, issued an ITB to establish fixed pricing for fruit juice products for the federal reimbursable meal program to approximately 215 school sites.

The initial term for this award was from August 1, 2009 through July 31, 2010, with four additional one-year renewal options.  The supplier has agreed to renew for the third year, beginning August 1, 2011, and ending July 31, 2012, with the same prices, terms, and conditions.  The Superintendent is authorized to approve the renewal agreement for the terms of the specifications.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds will be available in the Student Nutrition Services Department budget.  Expenditures were $2,089,341 for fiscal year 2010/2011, and $2,509,587 for fiscal year 2009/2010.
EVALUATION
Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team.  Reviews are conducted face to face, typically quarterly, or by utilizing an online vendor performance report.  Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract.
