| Approve Award of Contract for Roof Replacement at Dunbar Elementary School | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The approved District Five Year Plan includes funding for undesignated roof repairs and replacements. District staff have identified an urgent roof repair requirement at Dunbar Elementary School, and has allocated a portion of the undesignated roof repair funding to replacement of selected areas of the roof. District staff selected rojo Architecture, LLC from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services. The project was advertised and bids received (see attachment). On June 14, 2011, the Board approved award of a contract for construction to the low bidder, All Area Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. Subsequent to Board approval and after further review of the contract requirements, All Area Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc., has declined to execute the contract and forfeited their bid security. Award of the contract for construction to the second low bidder, Southern Roofing Company, Inc., is therefore recommended. |
