Approve the Grant Funded Positions for the Florida Department of Education, Race to the Top (RTTT) District-Developed Assessments for Hard-to-Measure Content Area Grants, Projects B and G (Information and Technology Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The School Board of Hillsborough County was awarded two Race to the Top (RTTT) grants for District-Developed Assessments for Hard-to-Measure Content Areas. These grants were awarded to the District and are funded by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE). The one year funding for Project B, Physical Education/Health Education, is $952,381. The one year funding for Project G, Career and Technical Education, is $895,268. Two supervisor positions have to be created to meet the requirements of the project. A job description outlining the duties of these positions is attached. Specific requirements and experiences are listed in the job description and this description will be available to all applicants. Should the funding for these positions not be continued after one year, the positions listed will be deleted. | |

EVALUATION | |
Under the terms of the grant, the District will be responsible for project evaluation. The Race to the Top District-Developed Assessments for Hard-to-Measure Content Areas project supervisors will work with the Department of Assessment and Accountability to assess progress toward identified milestones and adjust program processes as necessary. State reporting requirements will support the consistent collection of project data and will determine whether or not the goals of the grant have been met. If satisfactory progress is not met within the one-year term, the grant will not be renewed and the positions will be deleted. | |
