Approve the Recommendation Regarding the Purchase of Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) Classroom Licenses and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) 2007/2010 Classroom Licenses from Certiport (Sole-Source Provider) (Career and Technical Education-Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
These licenses from Certiport are considered sole source which is exempt from the bidding process per Florida Department of Education 6A1.012 purchasing policies. 

We request approval to purchase the MOS 2007/2010 Classroom Licenses for 24 high school sites that will provide MOS certification testing and also purchase ACA Classroom Licenses for 24 high school sites to provide ACA certification testing for Career and Technical Education students and teachers in Hillsborough County Public Schools. 

This purchase will extend the existing licenses until September 2012 and provide each school site with access to ACA and MOS certification practice software and testing licenses. The software and licenses cover certification tests in Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash, and Photoshop, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook 2007.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Budgeted Federal Carl D. Perkins Grant funds are available in the amount of $47,115 for this project. Funding in the amount of $101,739.12 is available from weighted FTE funds earned by previous student achievements in industry certification testing.The licenses are subject to renewal on an annual basis to provide continual access to certification preparation and testing.
EVALUATION

This purchase will be evaluated by the number of successful industry certifications achieved by students and teachers.
