| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| Tampa Truck Center is a local dealer and warranty repair center for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Freightliner parts and service. The Transportation Department purchases over 1,800 parts from Tampa Truck. They are the only authorized dealer for Freightliner in the authorized organizational representative (AOR) area, which consists of DeSoto, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Polk, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota counties.
Therefore, Tampa Truck Center is considered sole-source and is exempt from the bidding process per Florida Department of Education 6A-1.012 Purchasing Policies (12)(d). This exemption allows Hillsborough County Public Schools to negotiate the best terms and conditions with the vendor. |
