On October 26, 2010, the Board approved the issuance of approximately $37,935,000 of Qualified School Construction Bonds (QSCBs) for renovation of roofs and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at various District sites.  The QSCBs provided for acceleration of roof and HVAC renovations previously scheduled in the five-year plan.  The roof renovations are being executed in phases to avoid over-tasking available roofing contractors and ensure competitive pricing.  (The allocation of QSCB funded projects to phases is indicated in an attachment.) 

District staff selected Wilder Architecture, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services for a project to replace the roof at Chiaramonte Elementary School.

Project completion is scheduled for August 2012. The construction schedule will be coordinated with that of the ongoing renovation.

Approval of the Design Development Phase will allow the architect to proceed with construction documents.

Total funds in the amount of $855,000 are included in the District Capital Outlay: Qualified School Construction Bonds.  The estimate of probable cost is $854,245.
