Approve Acceptance of Project for Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Renovation at Yates Elementary School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The approved District Five Year Plan included the project for renovation of the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system at Yates Elementary School.  On November 3, 2009, the Board appointed the engineering firm of Forney Engineering, Inc. to provide design services. On May 18, 2010, the Board awarded the contract for construction to B & I Contractors, Inc.  The scope of work provided for renovation of the HVAC system throughout the campus and included replacement of the existing cooling plant with a thermal ice storage system; new air handlers and ductwork; and a new energy management system. The project scope also included replacement of ceilings and lights throughout the majority of the campus.

The engineer advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
