Approve Acceptance of Project for Classrooms for Kids Addition at Davis Elementary School | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On November 9, 2006, the Board appointed Howard & Associates Architects, P.A. and Greater Bay Construction Co., Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The scope of work provided for an additional 10 classrooms. This addition was necessary to meet class size reduction requirements. Due to the failure of Greater Bay Construction to complete the contract requirements, the Board previously approved the termination of the agreement with Greater Bay for this project. District staff authorized the architect to provide additional services to complete the remaining requirements. The architect has completed the additional work and advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance. The balance due on the contract reflects a reduction to provide for compensation to the architect for the additional services required to complete the contract requirements. The remaining funds will be disbursed to the bonding company for the project, pursuant to previous direction from Greater Bay. |
