Approve Increase in Cost of School Resource Officers with the City of Tampa (Administration Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The School Board annually approves an agreement with the City of Tampa for the placement of School Resource Officers (SRO) in our secondary schools.  The original agreement was approved by the School Board on August 16, 2011.  On September 22, 2011, the Tampa Police Department informed us of their error in accurately calculating the School Board's share of the cost of the SRO program.  Attached are letters of explanation from the City of Tampa.  The incorrect amount of $1,379,696.50 was reflected in the original contract.  The corrected cost is $1,457,649.50.  The cost difference is $77,953.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
The increase in cost is $77,953 and is funded in the Division of Administration budget.
