Recognition of Spoto High School‘s Academy of Fashion Technology and Design Attainment of Model Academy Status by the National Career Academy Coalition (Career and Technical Education - Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC) is a national agency that evaluates and certifies Career Academies based on ten National Standards of Practice.  There are three levels of certification, with Model being the highest level of achievement.    

Spoto's Academy of Fashion Technology and Design is the first Model NCAC Academy in Hillsborough County and the first Fashion Design Academy to receive Model status in the United States.  By receiving Model status, Spoto High School's Academy of Fashion Technology and Design is recognized as a leader in Career Academy development and sustainability throughout the United States.     

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum • Recruit, develop, and retain a highly effective, diverse workforce • Align financial resources to support the district’s strategic goals • Demonstrate best financial practices • Promote a culture of safety, which is free from harassment, bullying, and aggression • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
