Approve Renewal of Agreements for Technical Services Provided to Visually Impaired Grant (Curriculum and Instruction Division, Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired -FIMC-VI)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As the District is the fiscal agent for FIMC-VI, we request approval of renewal of Agreements for Technical Services for the following services to be provided by FIMC-VI to Florida school districts as they implement Quality Programs for Students with Visual Impairments (QPVI). Funding provided annually by the FIMC-VI grant.

  • Amy R. Guerette will provide in-depth professional development and program assistance for three Florida school districts (Duval, Leon, and Palm Beach) as they implement the self-study phase of QPVI. The consultant will deliver workshop content face-to-face and online with teachers of the visually impaired and program supervisors. The consultant is a nationally recognized speaker, professor of visual disabilities at Florida State University and has extensive experience with the QPVI process. Consultant has performed these functions to the satisfaction of the Florida Department of Education since November 2008.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds of $22,150 are included in divisional special revenue/federal programs budget (Project 2117) FIMC-VI.
EVALUATION
As required in the Additional Assurances included in the 2011/2012 Project Application, quarterly data reflecting all project activities will be maintained in the Florida Department of Education/Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services Project Tracking System.
