SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS | |
Approve Lease Agreement Between the School Board of Hillsborough County and the State of Florida Department of Health and a Consent Agreement with the School Board, Health Department and Tampa Family Health Centers, Inc. for the Floyd Kelton Health Center at Lanier Elementary School |
|
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On March 7, 2000, the School Board of Hillsborough County and the State of Florida Department of Health entered into an Interlocal Agreement regarding the construction and operation of a public health clinic on two acres at Lanier Elementary School. The Health Department has operated a public health center there since that time. A small portion of the building, which is separated from the public space, houses the Lanier school student health clinic. Attached is a Lease Agreement with the Health Department that formalizes the relationship between both parties at the facility. The Health Department will be responsible for any and all capital improvements to the property, daily maintenance and utilities. The School Board will be responsible for its share of the janitorial, garbage collection and utility service attributable to the 728 +/- square feet of occupancy for the Lanier school student health clinic. Due to the changes in the manner that public health services are funded, the Health Department has assigned some health care service delivery at the Kelton Health Center to Tampa Family Health Centers, Inc., a federally-qualified health center. The Health Department will also continue to provide some health care services at the Center. The Lease Agreement provides for this arrangement and the attached Consent Agreement provides School Board approval of Tampa Family Health Centers, Inc. as a health care provider at the Health Center.
