Approve Release of Spray Field Easement to the State of Florida Department of Management Services at South County Career Center

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In March, 2000, the State of Florida Department of Management Services deeded 226 +/- acres on Route 41 in Ruskin to the School Board of Hillsborough County for the construction and operation of the South County Career Center.  In addition to the land for the school, a 30 +/- acre easement on adjacent State property was designated for a spray field for school onsite sewage treatment.  The easement language stated that if the spray field was not used for this purpose, the easement area would revert back to the State if they required it for other purposes.

A self-contained sewage treatment plant was developed and built at South County Career which does not require the spray field easement.  The easement can now be released.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)

The release of the spray field easement back to the State of Florida at South County Career Center will not have any financial impact to the School Board of Hillsborough County.
