EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Florida Statues 1001.42(18) and 1001.452 require School Boards to annually review and approve the composition of SACs, SIPs, and waivers for every school in the district. [Included Attachments: 2011/2012 School Improvement Summary - Attachment A; Standard Waivers Summary – Attachment B; Non-Standard Waivers Summary - Attachment C]

Schools, using the Florida Department of Education SIP template, develop and approve their SIPs annually.  Through SIPs, schools implement a collaborative and ongoing process for improvement that aligns with the district goals and schools’ student data. The purpose of SIPs is to provide a current description of students’ performance along with a system of goals, strategies, action steps, evaluation tools, evaluation processes, and professional development.  All SIPs have been uploaded as Word documents on the Florida School Improvement website and can be accessed through the District’s website.  Working together, the Office of School Improvement and Title I School Improvement Office review all SIPs, SAC composition forms, and waivers to ensure compliance and high standards.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds of $581,037 from the District’s PAVA-Epayables Rebate and Non-Recurring Interest Earnings are budgeted to support School Improvement Plans (Project 5105).  Each school is provided funding of $3 per student.
