Approve the Agreement to Purchase “Leadership Curriculum Training Modules and Implementation” from Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) (Sole-Source) (Administration Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Leadership Curriculum Training Modules and materials from SREB are considered sole-source and are exempt from the bidding process per Florida Department of Education 6A-1.012 purchasing policies.

Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) is purchasing six Curriculum Modules to use as coursework for all levels of our principal pipeline leadership development programs.  Each module provides activities that engage school leaders and school leadership teams in solving real school problems by applying research-based strategies.  The modules we are purchasing include:

  • Using Data to Focus Improvement
  • Creating a High-Performance Learning Culture
  • Building and Leading Effective School Improvement Teams
  • Communicating to Engage Stakeholders in School Improvement
  • Using Root Cause Analysis to Reduce Student Failure
  • Assessing Academic Rigor to Ensure Grade-Level Proficiency and College Readiness

SREB will provide HCPS with the six training modules, consulting and implementation assistance, and train-the-trainer courses so that we will have current administrators trained to train other administrators.  The district trainers will redeliver course content throughout each of the four principal pipeline leadership development programs.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum • Align the performance management system with the district’s priorities
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $150,000 will be available from the Wallace Foundation grant, Project 2100.
EVALUATION
Participants will assess the impact of coursework on their leadership performance, the performance of those completing the coursework will be tracked overtime, and external evaluators as part of the Wallace Foundation grant will assess the impact of courses as part of our principal pipeline.
