Adoption of Proclamation “Autism Spectrum Disorders Awareness Month” – April 2012 (Exceptional Student Education – Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request the School Board adopt the attached Autism Spectrum Disorders Awareness proclamation to recognize the efforts of Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) in effectively implementing education practices which advance the awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
HCPS currently serves over 1,300 students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and provides these students with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary in order to maximize their overall achievement and success. During Autism Spectrum Disorders Awareness month, HCPS joins school districts nationally in building acceptance and highlighting the unique talents of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. HCPS is proud of the hard work demonstrated by our students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, the dedication of their teachers, and the ongoing support of their families. |
