EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
In January, researchers overseeing the Measures of Effective Teaching Project (MET) released their second set of findings from the two year study. The focus of the MET Project was on determining methods of identifying effective teaching. It included 3,000 teachers from Hillsborough County, New York City, Memphis, Charlotte, Denver and Dallas. Components of the study were video taping teachers in the classroom, assessing student growth through test results, student surveys regarding classroom practice, and a teacher knowledge assessment that was focused on the teacher’s ability to explain important concepts.
