| Approve Purchase of The Creative Curriculum System for Preschool Through Teaching Strategies (Student Services and Federal Programs Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| Under the School Readiness contract, Board Agenda Item A 5.63, approved on June 14, 2011, with the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County, the School Readiness Program was directed to purchase preschool curriculum for use in private child care centers in Hillsborough County. With the approval of this agenda item, the School Readiness Program will purchase ninety three (93) copies of the curriculum kits for use with four year old children in private child care centers that accept School Readiness children throughout the county.
The Creative Curriculum System for Preschool, a state approved curriculum, is a comprehensive curriculum that is built on exploration, discovery, and individual instruction. This system is designed to help teachers plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, content rich program as mandated by Chapter 411.01 of Florida Statute. |

| EVALUATION | |
| Each year the financial statements are audited by Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition as prescribed by law. The funding for Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County, Inc. is provided through federal dollars. Flow-through dollars are channeled by Agency for Workforce Innovations. The School Readiness Program uses these funds to purchase child care in Hillsborough County. Hillsborough County Public Schools does not provide funding for this service to the community. | |
