| Approve Award of Contract for Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Chiller Replacements at 3 Sites (South County Career Center, Turkey Creek Middle School, Davidsen Middle School) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On October 26, 2010, the Board approved the issuance of approximately $37,935,000 of Qualified School Construction Bonds (QSCBs) for renovation of roofs and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at various District sites. The QSCBs provided for acceleration of roof and HVAC renovations previously scheduled in the five-year plan. (QSCB funded projects are indicated in the attachment.) District staff selected MES Group, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services for a project to replace the HVAC chillers at South County Career Center, and Turkey Creek and Davidsen Middle Schools. The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation). Award of the contract for construction to the low bidder, Kenyon & Partners Inc., is recommended. |

Total funds in the amount of $735,000 are included in the District Capital Outlay: Qualified School Construction Bonds. The contract amount being awarded is $734,629. |
