Approve Acceptance of the Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc. Amendment Modification Grant Funds by the Career, Technical, and Adult Education Department, 2012/2013 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval to accept the Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc. Amendment modification grant funds which are a continuation of the previous grant dated June 14, 2011.  These funds are used to implement a career exploration and workplace readiness skills five-week summer camp with a focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines.  The grant is a partnership with Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc., Hillsborough Community College, Junior Achievement, and Hillsborough County Public Schools and will serve 375 eligible 14-16 year-old WIA (Workforce Investment Act) and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) students.  Periodic events will take place throughout the 2012/2013 school year to enrich the students understanding of the STEM careers and postsecondary opportunities.

EVALUATION
Performance evaluation measures are determined by Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc.  The results of the evaluation are shared with all stakeholders.
