SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Purchase of the easyCBM (Curriculum-Based Measures) Online Progress Monitoring System (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The easyCBM product is an online progress monitoring system created by researchers at the University of Oregon that provides a variety of reading assessments designed to measure the degree to which students have mastered reading skills and knowledge deemed critical at each grade level.  The goal of the system is to help teachers facilitate good instructional decision-making as part of the PS/RtI (Problem Solving/Response to Intervention) Framework. This system also meets the Department of Education compliance requirement for the progress monitoring of student intervention support, particularly when making Exceptional Student Education (ESE) eligibility decisions.  The three year purchase will provide all below level elementary students consistent progress monitoring measures to be administered from 2012/2013 through 2014/2015.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Budgeted funds of $115,500 are available through the Comprehensive Reading Plan – Project 4526.
EVALUATION
Evaluation of the program will be based on online progress monitoring reports generated for all below level students and Tier 3 PS/RtI documentation using easyCBM progress monitoring reports.
