Approve Acceptance of Project for Roof Replacement at Yates Elementary School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On October 26, 2010, the Board approved the issuance of approximately $37,935,000 of Qualified School Construction Bonds (QSCBs) for renovation of roofs and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at various District sites.  The QSCBs provided for acceleration of roof and HVAC renovations previously scheduled in the five-year plan.  The roof renovations are being executed in phases to avoid over-tasking available roofing contractors and ensure competitive pricing.  (The allocation of QSCB funded projects to phases is indicated in an attachment.) 

District staff selected Roof Engineering Associates, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services for a project to replace the roof at Yates Elementary School.  The project was advertised and bids received.  Award of the contract to the low bidder, Ramcon, LLC, was recommended.

The engineer advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
