SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Memorandum of Understanding  (MOU) Between Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) Head Start/Early Head Start and The School Board of Hillsborough County, FL (HCPS) Early Childhood and HOST Programs Department (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This Memorandum of Understanding is effective August 16, 2012, through August 16, 2014.  The purpose of this understanding is to ensure coordinated efforts to plan, provide, and support activities for the early childhood community in Hillsborough County.   The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners Head Start/Early Head Start Program, along with the Hillsborough County Public Schools Head Start Program supports the opportunity for all preschool children to receive a high quality educational experience.  We will work closely to provide community services and effective transition activities for students leaving Head Start and entering Kindergarten.

• Align financial resources to support the district’s strategic goals
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
No financial impact to the district.
EVALUATION
Financial statements are audited by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, Head Start/Early Head Start, as prescribed by law.  Federal funding for The School Board of Hillsborough County Head Start Program flows through the Grantee, Hillsborough County Head Start/Early Head Start.  There is no district generated revenue used for this program.
