Approve Facility Rental Fee Schedule | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Hillsborough County Public Schools facilities are available for rent to private entities following the fee schedule established by the School Board. Periodically that fee schedule has been updated to reflect increases in costs to maintain and operate the facilities as may be applicable. The proposed update to the fee schedule includes increases to reflect actual energy costs for the use of the facilities. In addition a new category was added for renting of parking lots and other open areas that was not covered in the existing fee schedule. The parking lot rental would be applicable as a primary use only. If other facilities are being rented the parking lot is included in those rental costs. The Energy Management Department provided the updated costs for electrical services. The Administration, Business and Facilities Divisions were involved in reviewing the proposed fees. The goal is to establish a fee schedule that is reasonable, yet ensures that allowing non-school functions at the schools does not COST the School District money. According to the terms of the Cooperative Use Agreement with all four local governments, this fee schedule is not applicable when the facility is being used by other local governmental entities. Previously approved interlocal agreements are in effect for that purpose.
